The ULI Foundation’s Annual Fund Campaign in 2013 concluded with a record-setting $1,573,000 in donations—a 15 percent increase from the previous year, and a 77 percent increase from 2009, when Geoffrey Stack assumed chairmanship of the fundraising effort in the depths of the financial crisis.
“We are thrilled with this extraordinary level of support,” Stack says. “Each contribution to the Annual Fund supports programs that spark change, drive new thinking, and make a visible difference.”
While opportunities for online giving to the Annual Fund have existed for several years, recent improvements to ULI’s online e-commerce system dramatically improved the ease of making donations online—and allowed members to designate their gifts to particular ULI Foundation–funded programs, including Urban Innovation Grants, UrbanPlan, the Women’s Leadership Initiative, and Advisory Services panels.
ULI Foundation Chairman James J. Curtis III says the record-breaking amount reflects the firm commitment by ULI members to give back to the Institute, the industry, and their communities. “Every gift to the Foundation represents a way to give individuals, communities, and regions better choices. Better choices make a better world. That is the impact ULI is making every day through the contributions of our members.”
