Urban Land magazine proudly presents its new group of 40 Under 40 winners, selected in a program that draws on ULI’s global reach to identify and celebrate some of the best and brightest young professionals across all land use disciplines.
The competition, which started in 2014, provides ULI members with the opportunity to nominate leaders under age 40 in any of the fields of work represented by the Institute, including design, development, finance, planning, landscape architecture, sustainability, public policy, transit, urban infrastructure, and academia. The winners were recognized at the ULI Fall Meeting in Dallas and were celebrated at a reception hosted by HKS Architects, a global architectural firm, at its offices in Dallas.
“This elite group represents the innovators who are shaping the future of our global cities,” says Patrick L. Phillips, ULI global chief executive officer. “They are the influential leaders who both embrace the best practices in land use and think outside the box to drive positive change in the built environment.”
The winners were selected from more than 400 nominations submitted by ULI members from around the world.
Jury members included Ryan Botjer, senior managing director, Tishman Speyer; Lynn Carlton, regional leader of planning for Kansas City and Columbus, HOK; Kyrus Freeman, partner, Holland Knight; Robert Lieber, executive managing director, Island Capital Group; Bert Matthews, executive vice president and partner, Colliers; Daniel Neidich, chief executive officer and partner, Dune Real Estate Partners; Kari Pitkin, managing director of real estate, Bank of America Merrill Lynch; and Leslie Woo, chief planning officer, Metrolinx.
