Richard Marshall

Richard Marshall has worked as an architect and urban designer for 19 years conducting architectural and urban design projects in the Middle East, Australia, the United States, China, as well as other parts Asia. He is the international strategy director at Perkins+Will, based in San Francisco. Marshall was associate professor and director of Urban Design Programs at the Harvard Design School. He has lectured and taught around the world and has been an adjunct professor of architecture at the University Technology Sydney and Tongji University, Shanghai.

Any native Angeleno who has walked even a few blocks Downtown can attest to the state of our sidewalks. If we do not invest in the public realm—in our streets, sidewalks, plazas, and parks—then we leave on the table the vital seeds of who it is we can become as a people and as a city.
