Five real estate industry leaders have been added to the ULI Global Board of Directors, serving terms that began July 1. In addition, 26 industry luminaries and leading ULI members have been added to the roster of ULI’s Governing Trustees, who provide leadership in member advancement of the Institute’s mission.

ULI’s Global Board of Directors, which is the principal policy-making body of the Institute, provides strategic direction for the organization and has responsibility for oversight of all fiscal, management, and legal operations and activities. The Global Board recently approved ULI’s new Global Strategic Plan, a multiyear strategy for strengthening member engagement and expanding member impact in each region where ULI has a presence—the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific. The plan, approved May 1, seeks to deliver greater member value through technology investments to improve member connections and involvement with ULI; strengthen and broaden ULI’s member networks; and encourage more philanthropic giving to expand ULI’s reach.

The new Global Board members are ULI Foundation chairman Douglas D. Abbey, chairman, Swift Real Estate Partners, San Francisco; ULI board secretary Marty Burger, chief executive officer, Silverstein Properties, New York City; and at-large members Thomas R. Arnold, global head and head of Americas real estate, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Gainesville, Florida; Wayne Ratkovich, president and chief executive officer, the Ratkovich Company, Los Angeles; and Ralph Rosenberg, KKR, New York City.

They join current board members and ULI leaders Thomas W. Toomey, global chairman of ULI, and chairman, chief executive officer, and president of UDR in Highlands Ranch, Colorado; immediate past ULI global chairman Randall K. Rowe, chairman, Green Courte Partners, Chicago; ULI Europe Chairman Juergen Fenk, chief executive officer, SIGNA Holding GmbH, Berlin; ULI Asia Pacific Chairman Nicholas Brooke, chairman, Professional Property Services Limited, Hong Kong; immediate past ULI Americas chairman Patricia R. “Trish” Healy, principal, Hyde Street Holdings, Raleigh, North Carolina; ULI board treasurer John R. Chandler, Majesteka Investments Holding, Winnetka, Illinois; and at-large members Peter Ballon, managing director and global head of real estate, CPPIB, Toronto; Mary K. Ludgin, director, global investment research, Heitman, Chicago; Constance B. Moore, corporate director and investor, San Francisco; Richard T.G. Price, chief executive officer, Asia Pacific, CBRE Global Investors–US, Hong Kong; Francois X. Trausch, chief executive officer, Allianz Real Estate, Munich, Germany; and W. Edward Walter, ULI global chief executive officer.

In addition, 26 industry luminaries and leading ULI members have been added to the roster of ULI’s Governing Trustees. The newly elected trustees, whose terms began July 1, reflect the global composition of ULI’s membership, with representatives from the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific regions. They were nominated by the Global Board of Directors and subsequently elected by the Institute’s full members. Each candidate’s ULI activity and participation, in addition to industry leadership, were among the criteria considered for the nominations.

The new governing trustees are Douglas D. Abbey, ULI Foundation chairman and a new Global Board member; Benjamin Cha, chief executive, Grosvenor, Hong Kong; Khoo Teng Chye, executive director, Centre for Liveable Cities, Singapore; Jeffrey A. Dritley, managing partner, Kearny Real Estate Company, Los Angeles; Scott Dunn, vice president, AECOM, Singapore; Ame Engelhart, director, Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, Hong Kong; Antonio Fiol-Silva, founding principal, SITIO architecture + urbanism, Philadelphia; Marnix Galle, executive chairman of the board, Immobel SA/NV, Brussels; Jeffrey R.
