The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and ULI recently hosted a dialogue on next-generation urban sustainability initiatives.  A response panel included public officials representing Baltimore, Boston, and Washington, D.C.  The panelists provided their thoughts on the City of Hamburg’s successful urban sustainability initiative and what barriers stood between replicating similar efforts in their respective cities. They address the problem with motivating U.S. citizens to take climate issues seriously while energy prices remain lower than their European counterparts as well as what each city is doing to be more green.
